One of the advantages of shopping at Safeway is by owning and activating your Safeway club card. The Safeway Club card gives you up to 20 percent savings on groceries and other eligible items purchased at Safeway grocery stores. To get your card, go to the customer service department of your local Safeway store and complete an application. After that, the clerk will give you a card on the spot.
Registering or activating the Safeway club card can be done in the store or online. The Safeway app available on your smartphone can get the same savings and benefits from the card but you must have your Safeway Club card with you, or know the phone number associated with the card. But before you can access your benefits, you need to activate your club card.

How to activate your Safeway Club card
After you have received your card, you can activate it at the customer service center where it was obtained or you can do so online using these easy steps.
- Visit the Safeway website. This will take you to the registration site and you’ll find the online registration form on this page.
- Complete the form filling out all of the required fields which include your first and last name, your telephone number along with the card number. If you don’t have a card, you can still register for an account. They’ll ask for your email address and will ask you to set up a password that is between 8 and 12 characters.
- Choose your local Safeway store, and enter in your city, state and zip code, and click on the terms of use and privacy policy agreement.
- If any of your information changes, you can also update your club card information on the website so you won’t lose any of the points that you’ve earned.
After that, you can now enjoy your Safeway club card with all the benefits accrued to you.
